If grief could talk, it would tell you that it knows this is not a cake walk,
Denial, anger, memories, all knock together as you talk,
Remembering with tears and a smile on the face,
Knowing well that you are not going to see them again.
If grief could talk, it would say, "come on, let us just talk."
"I know life comes crumbling down as a deck of cards,
Time stops, future ends, all collapsing in the moment of shock,
I am sorry for I knocked your door,
"you will be fine", I can't say that, for sure."
If grief could talk, it would say that nothing pains more than death,
The soul gets freedom leaving behind a trail of loss,
When life separates soulmates, it can be consoled as fate,
But when breath takes your soulmate away, no words can heal the pain.
If grief could talk, it would tell you to stop, pause, cry and carry on,
With a void in your heart and a hole in your soul,
Cherishing the moments lived, now been locked in time,
We learn to live in an empty inner whirl.
